                यह राष्ट्रीय स्तर का पुस्तकालय संघ है| संघ का अर्थ होता है - एक ऐसा समूह जो सामान उद्देश्यों के लिए कार्य करे| इसकी स्थापना से पहले भी देश में राज्य स्तर के पुस्तकालय संघ बन चुके थे| आन्द्रा प्रदेश पुस्तकालय संघ भारत का पहला पुस्तकालय संघ है और यह वर्तमान में भी कार्यरत है|

स्थापना:

• 12 सितम्बर 1933 को ILA की स्थापना का निर्णय लिया गया और 13 सितम्बर 1933 (https://ilaindia.co.in/vision-mission) को वास्तव में All India Library Conference at Calcutta - Royal Asiatic Hall (12-14 Sept. 1933) में क्रियान्वित किया गया| 

• इसकी स्थापना Society of Registration Act,1860 धारा-21, के तहत पंजीकरण कराके किया गया|

• स्थापना के समय इसका ऑफिस कलकत्ता में था|

• इसका संविधान 1933 में बना और 1949 में लागू हुआ|

• 1946-53 में Delhi Public Library (Delhi University) में स्थानांतरित किया गया|

• 1954-64 में इसे फिर कलकत्ता ले जाया गया|

• 1980 के बाद से अब वर्तमान में यह दिल्ली के मुखर्जी नगर में स्थित है|

• इसके पांच क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय - उत्तर, दक्षिण, पूर्व, पश्चिम व केन्द्रीय|

• 6 जून 2016 को ILA की जमीन अलोट करने हेतु ILA ने एक पत्र Leutenent of General, Delhi  को लिखा|

सदस्यता:

• इसका Member बनने हेतु कुछ शुल्क लिया जाता है|

• Annual Member - 250/- Per Annum Charge

• Lifetime Member - 1500/- Charge

• यदि State Libraruan इसका सदस्य बनना चाहता है तो उसे प्रतिवर्ष 600/- शुल्क देना होगा

• INFLIBNET or other related to Library - सदस्यता हेतु लगभग 2000/- व Ownery Member को 5000/- प्रतिवर्ष तक शुल्क देना होता है|

उद्देश्य:

1933 में-

• पुस्तकालय आन्दोलन को बढ़ावा देना
• पुस्तकालय विज्ञान की शिक्षा को बढ़ावा देना
• पुस्तकालय कर्मियों को प्रशिक्षण करना

1935 में - 

• पुस्तकालय विज्ञान में शोध को बढ़ावा देना
• सामान उद्देश्य वाले अन्य संगठनो के साथ सहयोग करना

1970 में - सामान्य उद्देश्य निर्धारित किये गए

1987 में - सामान्य उद्देश्य निर्धारित किये गए

ILA Awards :

As below mentioned ILA (Indian Library Association) Call for Nominations of ILA Awards / Fellowships 2022:

Subject:

"Nominations are invited for the following ILA awards/fellowship latest by 15th December 2022"

Description:

1. ILA DR PSG KUMAR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2022: 

            The Award, instituted by Dr. P. S. G. Kumar Felicitation Committee, Amravati (Maharashtra), is for professionals in the field of LIS in India. The age of the applicant should be 55 and above.  

2. ILA SM GANGULY BEST SCHOOL LIBRARY AWARD 2022: 

            The award is meant for the best school library in the country.  The libraries of high/higher secondary schools are eligible if they fulfill the following criteria: 

a) The applicant school may be an institution recognized/aided or run by the state government; 

b) The library is administered by a full-time librarian possessing at least a BLISc degree; 

c) The library must be located in a separate room of its own and provide at least lending services to all classes in a regular and systematic manner; 

d) A school library shall not get the award twice within five years.  

3. ILA - KAULA BEST LIBRARIAN AWARD 2022: 

            The Award, instituted by Prof. P.N. Kaula Endowment for Library and Information Science, Guntur (AP), is for professionals in the field of LIS in India. The Award carries a shawl, citation, and memento.  

4. ILA - DR. L M PADHYA BEST UNIVERSITY LIBRARY AWARD 2022: 

            The Award was instituted by Mrs. Kantaben L. Padhya in memory of her late husband Dr. L. M. Padhya who had retired as a University Librarian, from Smt. Hansa Mehta Library, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat. The Award carries a shawl, citation, and memento. Applications received for the award must fulfill the following conditions:  

a. Only a state/central Government University recognized by the UGC can apply for the award. 

b. The Applicant University must be a Member of AIU.  

c. The Applicant Library should be an Institutional member of ILA.   

5. ILA - GIDWANI-DESHPANDEY BEST ACADEMIC LIBRARIAN AWARD 2022: 

            The award, instituted by Prof. K. Navalani, former Professor and Head of, the Department of Library and Information Science, Punjabi University, Patiala is for the professional in the field of Academic Libraries in India. The award carries a Shawl, citation, and a memento. 

6. ILA - VENDANAIKEE FELLOWSHIP 2022: 

            The ILA-Vendanaikee Fellowship was instituted by Mrs. V. K. Sundaram, formerly Reader, DLIS, University of Delhi. The award is to be given to a candidate who has secured the highest percent of marks in the qualifying examination on the basis of which the candidate has been admitted to the B. Lib. Sc. Course in the University of Delhi during the 2021-22 year. The award carries (Rs.1000/only).  

7. ILA - DR. K. PADMA UMAPATHY AND K. S. UMAPATHY FELLOWSHIP IN LIBRARY & INFO. SCIENCE 2022: 

            Maximum Five Fellowships worth Rs.2000/- each is to be awarded annually out of the accrued interest on a certain sum of deposit with ILA. The money has been donated by Dr. K. S. Umapathy, former Professor of Library and Information Science and Librarian at Bangalore University. These Fellowships are given to students doing M. L. I. Sc. from a recognized university. At least three Fellowships will be awarded to the woman candidate provided they satisfy the following conditions: 

a. Students securing at least 60% of marks in qualifying examinations may apply for Fellowship.  

b. Students getting any other type of assistance from the Government/University, etc. will not be eligible for the award of the Fellowship. 

c. Not more than one Fellowship would be awarded to any one student from an institution during one year.

The following awards are also given during the forthcoming 68th ILA conference, no nomination is required as these awards will be decided by a committee as per ILA norms.  

ILA - C D SHARMA AWARD 2022:  

The Award is meant for the author of the best paper written and presented during the forthcoming 68th Conference of ILA. The Award was instituted by Mrs. Kamla Sharma w/o Dr. C. D. Sharma. The Award will be announced at the time of the All India Library Conference. It consists of a presentation of books worth Rs. 1000/-.  

Note: The author will be selected by the Award Committee as per ILA norms during the Conference.  

ILA - A G MOTIWALE AWARD 2022:  

The Award is meant for the young author of the best paper written and presented during the forthcoming 68th conference of ILA. The author must be below the age of 40 years. The Award was instituted by Mrs. Sushila Motiwale w/o Late Dr. A. G. Motiwale. The Award will be announced at the time of the All India Library Conference. It consists of a cash award of Rs.500/-. 

Note: The author will be selected by the Award Committee as per ILA norms during the Conference.  

ILA - P V VERGHESE AWARD 2022: 

 

The Award has been instituted by Sh. P.V. Verghese is meant to be given to the author of the best paper published in the Journal of ILA in the year 2022. The Award will be given for volume 58 at the time of the conference. It consists of a cash award of Rs. 500/-.  

Note: The author will be selected from published articles in the Journal of ILA by the Award Committee as per ILA norms
